This is highly variable and dependent on several factors. One consideration is how much the basic yarn or other materials cost – a small amount of inexpensive cotton yarn may only be $6 but several skeins of hand-dyed merino wool at $19-30 a piece adds up quickly!

The second consideration is crafting time. A small item might take a couple days, whereas a larger or more complex item could take weeks. I don’t charge any set fee per hour, but I do base the final cost on the amount of labor involved. This is also something I can estimate after evaluating a request and discussing yarn selection.

This depends entirely on what sort of item is being constructed and what it is made of. For the most part, I will have to order new yarn and because of my location far from good yarn stores, I will have to have it shipped to me, which does take some time.

It’s just me here making these things, so a small lovey may only take a few days to crochet, but I will need to add in time for yarn delivery and final sewing and construction. On the other hand, a large lace patterned blanket could take weeks just to knit. This is something I will be able to estimate after evaluating a request.

There’s a huge variety of yarns, even between the same fiber and weight of different brands.

Generally, the fibers are made of cotton, wool, acrylic, or some combination of those. There are specialty fibers like alpaca, mohair, or silk as well. Each has its own properties for softness, breathability, care, and wear.

The desired use and appearance of the item will help instruct which yarns we can choose from.

I typically use soft cotton for stuffed animals because it holds its shape and is very durable. Some wool blends will also work for certain stuffed creatures.  I use a more washable cotton or cotton/linen blend for kitchen items for heat resistance. Merino wool is very soft and I like it for baby blankets. Shawls are frequently done in thin luxury wools, silks, or mohair.

I would be glad to have you to follow along with updates as frequently as you like, including in-progress photos and brief descriptions.

Feel free to inform me if you want to know every step of the way or would prefer radio silence until it’s all done.

Regardless of that preference, I will provide a photo of the completed item prior to shipping so you can give a final approval.

Fair enough, there’s a million ideas out there! Feel free to contact me and give me anything you DO know — your occasion, gift recipient, or even just a budget — and I can help you narrow down some ideas and select the perfect thing!

I have cats, and while I’m not going to let them chew on my work, they do exist in the house and there is the possibility of stray hairs ending up on the final products, so if you are extremely allergic, please be warned and wash prior to use!

Anything that is not stuffed will be washed by me prior to shipment, using Soak soap (non-scented, hypoallergenic).

With very few exceptions, I do not develop my own patterns. There are many extremely talented people that do that difficult work, and they deserve every bit of credit for their labors. All patterns I use will be acceptable for commercial use and credited to their original designer, whether paid or free.

All sales are final, I will not accept any returns. The only exception would be if I have deviated significantly from our written agreement for a custom item.

Pre-made items will have representative photos and a complete description available. If you have any questions about an item, please ask before purchasing!

Custom items will be discussed in full and all decisions will be mutually agreed upon prior to work beginning.

All packages will have tracking and insurance. If your item is lost by the shipping service before delivery, we will make a mutual decision to either remake it at no additional charge or refund your purchase price.

In the case of accidents, misuse, or not following care instructions, I will not issue any refunds.

Sometimes damage can be repaired, please contact me if you would like me to evaluate one of my creations for repair service (this would involve a small labor fee, potentially yarn cost, and shipping both ways).

I do not provide a warranty on any of my crafts. In the case of accidents, misuse, or not following care instructions, I will not issue any refunds.

The short answer is no. The longer answer is maybe a tiny bit faster. It’s really just me here, and I have a toddler and I need to sleep! It is very unlikely I could make an item any faster than I already will. But I can take several days off the time by expediting the yarn shipping from the distributor and my own shipping to you (this would be just the flat cost of whatever those prices turn out to be).

Expedited shipping of the pre-made items in my store is available for an additional cost.

If you contact me before I have ordered any materials, I can issue a full refund.
If you contact me after I have ordered materials but before starting work, I can issue a refund for everything but the cost of those materials.
If you contact me after I have started working, I will not be able to issue any refund.

As a general rule, please treat your order as final upon submission.

I can! Gift wrapping is a $5 flat fee and I will need to verify the gift recipient’s address with you.
